The short version: we don't run ad networks. We don't sell, share, or rent reader data. We don't track you across sites. We don't drop cookies. We don't run pixel trackers. This page exists to say what little we do collect, why, and how to get it deleted.
What we collect, and only when you give it
- Newsletter signups. If you submit your email through the newsletter form, your address goes into a Netlify Forms record so we can send you the newsletter. That's the entire purpose. We don't enrich it, profile it, or share it.
- Case file / tip submissions. If you use the submit form, the content of your message goes into a Netlify Forms record so an editor can read it. If you include your email and ask for a reply, we'll reply.
- Membership payments. Subscription billing for the Inner Circle is handled by Stripe. We don't see your card number. Stripe shares only the membership status, your email, and the optional promo code you used (so we can credit a promoter if one referred you).
- One-time tips. Tips through /support/ are processed by Buy Me a Coffee. Same privacy model — we don't see your card; we see the tip and your name/email if you chose to share them on the tip page.
What we don't collect
- Cookies. None.
- Tracking pixels. None.
- Cross-site identifiers. None.
- Browser fingerprints. None.
- Location, beyond what your IP reveals at the CDN level for routing.
- Session recording, heatmaps, or any kind of behavioral playback.
Analytics
We use two privacy-respecting analytics tools, both aggregate-only:
- Netlify Analytics (server-side) — pageviews per URL, top referrers, bandwidth. Runs entirely on the CDN. No JavaScript in your browser, no cookies, no profiles.
- Plausible Analytics (client-side, cookieless) — counts aggregate engagement inside the site and the member portal. Tells us which pages, views, and articles members spend time on. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking, no individual identification. Plausible derives a country-level location from your IP at request time, but does not store the IP and does not build a profile. The data lives on Plausible's EU servers.
Neither tool tells us who you are. We see aggregate counts and trends — never identities. The point is to know what people read so we can write the right next thing, not to learn anything about any one reader. If we ever change this, it will be disclosed here in plain English before it happens.
Email forwarding
Email to any address at 1wisdom.co (e.g. hello@, editor@) is forwarded through ImprovMX to a personal inbox. ImprovMX is a forwarding service — it sees the email in transit. We chose it over Google Workspace specifically because it doesn't profile correspondents.
Third parties on this site
- Stripe — handles payment processing for the Inner Circle subscription. They see your card; we don't. Stripe shares the subscription status, your email, and any promo code you used (so we can credit a promoter if one referred you).
- Buy Me a Coffee — handles payment processing for one-time tips on the support page only.
- Netlify — hosts the site, handles DNS, runs the form backends, and runs the server-side analytics.
- Plausible Analytics — counts aggregate engagement (which pages, views, and articles members spend time on). Cookieless. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting. No individual identification. Data lives on Plausible's EU servers and is never sold.
- Google Fonts — serves the four typefaces used on the site (Inter, Space Grotesk, Crimson Pro, JetBrains Mono). Google records the font request as a server log entry.
- ImprovMX — forwards email sent to 1wisdom.co addresses.
No other third parties run code on this site. No social media SDKs. No chatbots. No ad networks. No A/B testing tools. No commenting systems that phone home.
Children
The site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we've received data from a minor, write us at hello@1wisdom.co and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Ask us what we have on you and we'll send it. Ask us to delete it and we'll delete it. There's no portal because the data set is small and a real person handles it. Email hello@1wisdom.co with the address you signed up with.
Changes to this policy
Material changes carry a dated note at the top of this page. If a change affects what we do with reader data, signed-up readers get an email.
